What your ShadeScore means

ShadeScore measures how comfortable it is outside at an address right now. It reads the tree cover, the buildings, the pavement, where the sun sits in the sky at this moment, and the live weather, and blends them into one number from 0 to 100.

High means conditions are comfortable right now. Low means the elements are working against you, and timing matters more. It works all year: in summer heat, a high score means cool, shaded relief. In winter cold, it means warm sun and shelter from the wind.

ShadeScore on your routes

In the ShadePath app, every route you generate carries its own ShadeScore, calculated along the path you choose: the shadiest loop on a July afternoon, the warmest walk on a January morning, with voice guidance that keeps you on the comfortable side of the street, and ShadePath Guardian watching over you the whole way.
